Origami Sorrows

Fold in the middle along the dotted

line until the edges meet Fold again

and then once more In half Then quarter

Keep going

until you cannot fold no more

Reach for additional paper Same colour

The little squares will pile up

into mounds on your drawing room floor

When they tip over the boundaries

of the flooring tile, arrange them within

to look like a face

Almond eyes and a sharp jaw

a handlebar moustache Like his

It is gone Forever Get a hold

on your mind Tear some more paper

and fold Till your fingers itch

from the chafing of paper

Quivering palms

An image on the ceramic you will

never see again.
